Minister of Music, Worship and the Arts
Wes Moore has ministered on the Big Springs staff since 1990. He holds music degrees from Oklahoma Baptist University, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and the University of North Texas. He is also Associate Dean/Chair of the Department of Music of the College of Fine Arts at Dallas Baptist University. Before coming to Big Springs, Wes served in churches in Pauls Valley and McAlester, Oklahoma. He has sung in churches and with symphonies and opera companies throughout the southwestern United States. Wes is married to his college sweetheart, Melanie, who is a freelance musician, accompanist, and choral conductor.
Bob will serve as our Interim Pastor while we search for a
full time Senior Pastor. He served as Pastor at Northlake
Baptist Church in Garland, TX from 1978-2006. Currently he
serves as a part time consultant for Dallas Baptist Association.
Bob received his Masters of Divinity from Southwestern
Baptist Seminary and Doctor of Ministry from New Orleans
Baptist Seminary. He also serves on the Board of Directors for
Hope Clinic and Cares Ministry. He has received training in
many areas of church ministry including coaching, church
consulting, church revitalization, evangelism, discipleship,
and interim pastoral ministry. Bob has been married to his wife
Ellen for 48 years, has 2 grown children who are now married,
and has 1 grandson. We look forward to Bob's temporary shepherding of our church beginning July 31st.
Ernie is a current member at Big Springs and will be at the church during the week to handle the daily operations as well as teach Wednesday night bible study. Ernie has served as Pastor at many several different church in Arkansas, Michigan and Texas. His last pastorate was at Valley View Baptist Church in Farmers Branch, TX. He retired in 2013, but has continued to be active in ministry, especially in pulpit supply opportunities for churches within the Dallas Baptist Association. Ernie received his Masters of Divinity from Baptist Theological Seminary in Jacksonville, Texas. Ernie's wife of 57 years, Meredith, is also a member and teaches our children's Sunday school class. We are fortunate to have Ernie step in and help until we find our new full time pastor!
